YOU will LOVE it Live owner, Genny DeMerchant is thrilled to announce that a long time colleague and mentor, Costin Manu will be joining the team as an agent, bringing his extensive arts knowledge and experience to the company.
Prior to coming on board at YWLIL, Costin was the Manager of Programming and Community Engagement at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. He’s held the roles of Executive Managing Director of the award-winning Gloucester Stage Company in Massachusetts, the Executive Director of the Sandusky State Theatre in Ohio and the Theatre Manager, the Manager of Programming, Marketing and Development and the city’s Manager of Arts, Culture and Theatres, at the award-winning Rose Theatre in Brampton in Ontario, Canada.
Costin Manu is an extremely versatile arts management professional
Over the last 35 years, Costin has produced over 50 professional plays and musicals and directed almost just as many. He has also worked extensively as a theater director, as well as an actor in film, television and theater in Europe, Canada and the United States. He was also an Associate Producer for the hit comedy Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks on Broadway.
With a 30-year experience and background in presenting, producing, directing, programming, marketing, publicity, fundraising and sponsorship, he has booked numerous touring Broadway shows, a large number of concerts, theatrical events, fundraisers and many arts presentations with some top names in the entertainment business.
Costin was the founding Managing & Artistic Director of Victoria Playhouse Petrolia, another award-winning regional professional theatre, and the General Manager at the Waterloo Entertainment Centre and Theatre Athena.
As the President/Executive Producer of StageEnt, Inc., a Toronto-based Production, Management and Theatre Consulting Company, he was contracted to consult on the future development of Theatre Cambridge in Ontario.After he was appointed its Producing Artistic Director and immediately launched a drive to build a brand new venue. That project later became a reality, after the involvement of Drayton Entertainment and the opening of their state-of-the-art, 500-seat Dunfield Theatre.
Costin was also Associate Artistic Director of the First Stages Theatre Company, a former member of the Board of Directors of Third Culture Theatre, a Toronto theatre company producing shows that view the classics through a multicultural lens, and is now a member of the Board of Directors of The Foster Festival in St. Catharines.
Having an agent on board with Costin’s extensive experience and industry knowledge will be a huge benefit to the company and the artists we serve.
